Some strong storms in progress across North Central Alabama. A west to east band of storms was in the Birmingham area extending all the way from Oak Grove on the west side of the county to near Leeds on the east side.

Moving northward, Producing locally heavy rain and dangerous lightning.
A separate group of storms was dumping heavy rain on Etowah County in NE Alabama

These storms were triggered (or made stronger) by a northward moving outflow boundry that was set in motion by some earlier stronger Central Alabama storms/
