Chilly Morning

| February 12, 2012 @ 11:35 am

Gazing out the window can certainly be deceiving this morning. The brilliant sunshine masks the rather chilly air in place across much of the eastern half of the country including Central Alabama. Here a quick look at a few morning lows.

City Low City Low City Low
Helena 22 Birmingham 20 Calera 23
Anniston 21 Cullman 21 Decatur 19
Huntsville 20 Muscle Shoals 20 Haleyville 16
Gadsden 21 Fort Payne 20 Tuscaloosa 22
Albertville 20 Alex City 24 Auburn 21
Montgomery 25 Mobile 27 Cheaha 28
Fayette 19 Demopolis 25 Hamilton 18
Inverness 20 Trussville 19 Jasper 20

Just before noon, the sky was clear across all of the state of Alabama with most locations slightly above the freezing mark. Fortunately, the pressure gradient has relaxed considerably from yesterday, so even though we will only be a few degrees warmer than yesterday, it should feel better without the wind.

Across the Nation yesterday, the highest temperature was 83 at Gila Bend, AZ, while the coldest was a low of minus 20 at Fosston, MN, a range of 103 degrees!
