Alabama weather is changing rather quickly and, overall, it is for the better. Showers and thunderstorms continue to migrate toward the northwest. For a brief time a Severe Thunderstorm Warning was in effect early this evening for Northeast Pickens and West Central Tuscaloosa County. It was canceled early.
Some strong storms have advanced northward as far as Marion County in Northwest Alabama.
But our eyes are glued to the Alabama Coast where weather action is getting more interesting.
* Along the Alabama Coast, including Gulf Shores, a “High Rip Current Warning” is in effect until late tonight. Numerous thunderstorms in progress in the area.
* At Mobile Regional Airport, at least 4.38 inches of rain since mid afternoon and heavy rain was still in the area. Mobile received 2.76 inches in just one hour and 1.90 in another hour.
* We are watching a low pressure area in the Gulf still under development.
