Then There Were Two…
…two tropical storms that is.
Florence was just named in the far eastern Atlantic about 300 miles west southwest of the Cape Verde Islands, or just a little more than 600 miles off the African Coast.
As to Ernesto:
More consensus on the overnight model runs as to a track through the southern Gulf after an encounter with the Yucatan. It should reach the Yucatan Wednesday and emerge into the Gulf Thursday. It is becoming more organized and probably stronger. The Jamaican government has issued a tropical storm watch.
Cuba/Bahamas Trough:
The trough creating an area of disturbed weather over Cuba and the Bahamas has about a 20% chance of producing a tropical cyclone says the NHC.
Hurricane Hunters:
Will investigate Ernesto all day with six hourly fixes and one mission is planned into the trough.
