Patchy Fog

| October 13, 2012 @ 6:57 am

Patchy fog covers parts of Central and North Alabama this morning.

The fog is thickest north and northeast of Birmingham according to satellite fog imagery.

Observations show visibilities down to 1/4 mile at Decatur with fog reported at places like Courtland and Decatur.

Be careful as you get out and about early this morning. Fog may reduce your visibility in spots.

The fog will burn off as the sun stats to heat the surface early this morning.

To the northwest, dense fog advisories cover much of Arkansas, where visibilities are near zero at many locations. They extend into southern Missouri, western Tennessee and northwest Arkansas. All of the fog to our west is just north of a stationary front that will start moving north today as a warm front ahead of a deepening low pressure system.
