Windy And Cooler Tomorrow; Still Dry

An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player on the right sidebar of the blog. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

SEVERE CLEAR: What a fine March day across Alabama. A cloudless sky for the northern counties, with temperatures generally in the 50s at mid-afternoon. Tonight will be clear and chilly with a low in the mid 30s early tomorrow.

COOL BREEZE: The sky will stay sunny tomorrow, but the day will be windy and cool with a high in the low to mid 50s; a gusty northwest wind of 15-25 mph will make it feel colder. Then, as the wind dies down tomorrow night, a freeze is likely by early Thursday; most places will see a low in the 28-32 degree range.

We warm to near 60 Thursday afternoon, followed by 70 degrees Friday.

MILD WEEKEND: Still looks like we will enjoy the warmest weather so far in 2013 this weekend, with highs generally in the mid 70s Saturday and Sunday. The sky will be partly sunny both days, and while I guess we might consider the mention of a shower over far North Alabama Sunday afternoon, it sure looks like most of the state will be dry.

NEXT WEEK: A few showers could show up Monday and Tuesday, but the GFS shows a weak system with limited dynamic support and limited moisture, so rain won’t be heavy at all, and there is no risk of severe weather.

Take a few minutes and watch the Weather Xtreme video for the maps, graphics, details, and more long range ideas.

BLIZZARD ANNIVERSARY: Be sure and scroll down for the post about the 20th anniversary of the great Blizzard of 1993… it started twenty years ago this evening.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40.
