Heaviest Rain to the West

| July 4, 2013 @ 8:01 pm

Over the last few hours the heaviest rain fall has been over West Alabama. This rain fall will continue to inch eastward for the the next few hours and will be impact areas around the Birmingham Metro. The most intense rain is lined up along the highway 43 corridor across West Alabama. A flash flood watch remains in place for most of north-central Alabama until at least Saturday. We have had a few flash flood warnings in our northwestern counties and these warnings remain in effect across portions of Fayette, Winston and Cullman Counties.

Intense tropical rains continue to fall in areas of Alabama. Unsettled weather will last into the overnight hours and I would not be surprised to see a few additional flash flood warnings across Central Alabama. The unsettled weather will persist over Alabama until at least the weekend.
