A round up of several cities and what they can expect:

JONESBORO/NE ARKANSAS
2 to 4 inches of snow accumulating tonight with a low near 22. An additional 1 inch Thursday morning.

DYERSBURG/WEST TENNESSEE
2 to 4 inches of snow accumulating tonight. An additional 1 inch or less Thursday morning.

MEMPHIS
About 1 inch of snow tonight and less than 1 inch additional accumulation Thursday morning.

TUPELO/NE MISSISSIPPI
A mix of snow, freezing rain and sleet. Less than 1 inch of snow and sleet tonight and tomorrow morning with about 1/4 inch of ice from freezing rain. That is enough ice to cause some significant problems.

NASHVILLE
About 1 inch of snow after midnight tonight with an overnight low of 25. Light snow continuing Thursday night becoming mixed with rain and sleet. Additional accumulation about 1 inch.

ATLANTA
A Winter Storm Warning from 3:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. Thursday. Up to 1 inch accumulation of sleet after midnight tonight followed by up to 1/4 inch of ice from freezing rain. Overnight low near 30. There could be some significant travel problems. A mix of rain, freezing rain and sleet continuing Thursday morning.

GREENVILLE/SPARTANBURG
A Winter Storm Warning. A mix of freezing rain and sleet with about 1 inch accumulation and about 1/2 inch of ice from freezing rain. That, too, can cause plenty of travel problems.

MOBILE
They are out of the ballgame. An all-day rain Thursday and even a few thunderstorms. Mild weather as warm air spreads inland from the Gulf of Mexico. A mild 65 degrees during the afternoon.

ASHEVILLE (The one in North Carolina, not Alabama)
A Winter Storm Warning from 4:00 a.m. tomorrow until 6:00 a.m. Friday. Snow starting after midnight with about 1 inch accumulation. Total accumulation from the whole event 3 to 5 inches of snow and possibly 1/2 inch of ice from freezing rain. If that materializes, yes, there will be plenty of travel problems.

GATLINBURG/CADES COVE/PIGEON FORGE
Snow after midnight accumulating 2 inches. Snow and sleet continuing Thursday with an additional accumulation of 3 to 5 inches. More snow Thursday night with 1 to 2 inches more accumulating. So, the storm total is expected to be 3 to 8 inches.

BIRMINGHAM
Sleet spread into the city tonight. We expect an overnight low of 31 and there will be a mix of sleet and light freezing rain overnight and into the early morning hours. There could be some brief icy spots, especially on bridges and overpasses. The temperature may start edging ever so slowly upward after midnight. We strongly encourage you to get up early tomorrow morning before heading to work or school.
