We will have a modified discussion a little later but without the graphics and maps that you usually see when James does them.

But now, here is a quick update on current weather.

All along the I-20 Corridor in Central Alabama, no seriousproblems developed overnight. There was some freezing rain on Mt. Cheaha but that is at 2407 feet elevation.

Trouble started from about Cullman north and especially in the Tennessee Valley. At one time there was as much as two inches of snow on the ground in Limestone and Madison County and some roads were closed. Reports this morning indicate that Interstate 65 is closed in Morgan County.

The snow has mostly changed over to sleet rain and some freezing rain, It should change to all rain a little later this morning.

The rain is beginning to taper off in West Alabama, Some heavy amounts have already fallen:

1.33 inches at Shelby County Airport
1.31 at Tuscaloosa Airport

Not much warm weather anytime soon. In fact we may not get above about 50 even in daytime for the next eight days!
