Clearing and Thinning Clouds

| December 31, 2013 @ 12:04 pm

The clouds are hanging tough today, but we beginning to see them thin out a bit across central portions of the state. That is allowing some peeks of sun as well as some filtered sunshine to make it to the surface.

The main clearing line is over northwestern portions of the state, and that clearing line will continue to slowly drift southeastward throughout the rest of today and into the overnight hours.

Across southern portions of the state, the clouds are thicker and the clearing will be a bit slower in those areas. Underneath those clouds, temperatures remain below seasonal average. Across northern portions of the state, locations are in the 30s, while areas to the south are in the 40s.

Temps will slowly increase throughout the afternoon, but they will not rise much. Expect most locations to only see 40s by mid-afternoon.
