The new GFS model is coming in colder for early next week. We will have a hard time getting out of the teens Monday, followed by a low near 5 degrees at daybreak Tuesday, if the model is correct. And, is probably is. We will make some downward temperature adjustments on our afternoon forecast package.

The last time we experienced a high under 25 degrees in Birmingham was on February 4, 1996, in the midst of an ice storm.

We will also review the snow potential for Sunday night; I think accumulation will be light, but some places north of Birmingham might see 1/2 inch or so. A fresh forecast discussion and video will be on the blog by 4 p.m.?
