Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Calhoun and Cleburne Counties

The NWS in Birmingham has issued a evere thunderstorm warning for parts of Calhoun and Cleburne Counties in East Alabama.

at 5:25 nickel sized hail was reported 4 miles north of Anniston.

The storm just southeast of Weaver and Jacksonville is the most imopressive of the night. The NWS warns that it could produce quarter sized hail (which is the one inch threshold for being a severe thunderstorm and damaging wind gusts.

THUNDERSTORM CAPABLE OF PRODUCING QUARTER SIZE HAIL…AND DAMAGING
WINDS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH. THIS STORM WAS LOCATED NEAR FORT
MCCLELLAN…AND MOVING NORTHEAST AT 60 MPH.
