Rain Approaching from the West

| February 4, 2014 @ 6:03 pm

The leading edge of the rain is now making its way into the extreme northwestern counties of the state. Rain is beginning to impact portions of Marion, Franklin, Colbert, and Lauderdale Counties. Over the next few hours we will see the rain shield over northern Mississippi continue to move east into the state. Once the rain starts at your location, you can expect the rain to last for several hours.

There could be a few rumbles of thunder in some of the heavier rain bands, and perhaps some gusty winds, but severe weather will not occur. Expect moderate to heavy rain across all of Central Alabama during the overnight hours. Most locations across the state will receive one half to one inch of rain. Of course there will be some areas that receive more, while others will receive less. In any case, a soaking rain will cover Alabama tonight.
