Rain Continues to Push East

| February 5, 2014 @ 12:06 am

The radar tells the story tonight. Rain, gusty winds, and some thunder across Central Alabama. The more intense storms are along and pushing east of Interstate 65. No storms are severe and we are not expecting storms to reach severe limits tonight.  All activity will continue to move off to the east through the early morning hours.

Some of the stronger activity currently is affecting Interstate 65 between Birmingham and Montgomery, including the cities of Calera, Clanton, and Selma. We are also seeing very heavy rain moving out of Jefferson County into Blount County.

For the most part, the rain is winding down across western portions of the state. There will be a few shower still possible behind the main batch of rain, but any of this activity will be fairly light.

By tomorrow, most of the rain should be exiting the state. There could be a few light showers possible in the morning. The rain and clouds will diminish from west to east through the day. We will be cooler as well, as a front has pushed through the state. We do expect to see some sunshine during the afternoon hours.
