DECENT DAY: The sun did manage to break through the clouds over much of Alabama today, and temperatures responded nicely with most locations close to 60 degrees at mid-afternoon. Clouds will thicken tonight ahead of a short wave moving our way.

COLDER, WET TOMORROW: Tomorrow will feature a cloudy sky, and dynamic cooling from a the strong short wave will keep temperatures in the 40s most of the day. The main window for rain will come from about 12:00 noon tomorrow through 3:00 a.m. Friday. Rain amounts of 1/2 inch are likely; a few spots could see amounts to 3/4″. The air is stable and there is no risk of severe weather, and probably no thunderstorms. Just ole fashioned rain.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: Leftover clouds Friday morning should give way to sunshine Friday afternoon with a high between 57 and 60. Then, Saturday promises to be a delightful day to start the weekend with ample sunshine and a high around 70 degrees. A dry cold front will pass through Saturday night, and Sunday will be a bit cooler with a high in the low 60s along with a partly sunny sky.

NEXT WEEK: Monday and Tuesday are looking dry and mild with a high in the low to mid 70s, then we will bring back a chance of showers at mid-week on Wednesday. See the Weather Xtreme video for the maps, graphics, and details.

STORM ALERT XTREME IS TONIGHT: Don’t forget will will offer the basic storm spotter class this evening at 6:30 at the Pelham Civic Complex. We need more trained storm spotters in Alabama, and this is your chance to help us. You won’t look at a storm the same way again. No age limits, no cost, no registration.
