Powerful thunder

During last night’s powerful thunderstorm here in Trussville, even when most of the rain was to the east, we had some very powerful lightning strikes at close range, resulting in some very loud and explosive-sounding thunder. Click on the above file for stereo audio of two of the closest lightning strikes (within about 1 mile of my house). Both of them caused strange clicking noises right at the beginning as they hit, and the first one knocked the power out temporarily to my east. The thunder with the second one is particularly impressive. Be sure and turn the volume up loud!
