Confirmed Tornado Southwest of Meridian
A confirmed tornado is being reported on the ground and causing damage in Mississippi this morning. Numerous reports of damage and debris associated with this storm as it races off towards the northeast at 55 mph. Trees and power lines are down on Highway 49.
It passed just to the north of the city of Collins, and it very close to the city of Taylorsville. It it moving out of Smith County and into Jasper County. We will be watching this storm carefully as it will be approaching Alabama in the next hour.
