Improving Weather Ahead

**No morning Weather Xtreme video due to the ongoing severe weather**

Be sure and scroll down for the latest on the ongoing severe weather situation across Alabama.

THE DAY AHEAD: One more batch of showers/storms is possible later this morning ahead of the surface cold front, but for now it looks like there will be insufficient instability for severe weather over the northern half of Alabama. A new tornado watch will be issued soon for parts of East and South Alabama through the morning.

The severe flooding around the Birmingham metro area (and other parts of North/Central Alabama) will begin to subside later this morning.

As drier air works into the state this afternoon, we might see a bit of sunshine with a high in the low to mid 70s.

COLDER TONIGHT: We drop into the 42-45 degree range early tomorrow as colder air invades Alabama. Tomorrow will be mostly cloudy and cool with a high in the low to mid 60s, and some light rain is possible tomorrow afternoon as the upper trough swings overhead. Nothing heavy, no severe weather, and no flooding.

Wednesday will be mostly sunny and cool with a high in the mid 60s.

FROST POTENTIAL THURSDAY MORNING: With a clear sky and light wind, some scattered frost is possible at daybreak Thursday with lows in the 34-38 degree range.

Growers need to be aware of this possibility and make necessary plans.

The weather looks dry Friday and into the weekend with a warming trend; highs will rise well into the 70s.
