Big Picture Just After 6 p.m./Lamar and Pickens Tornado!
IMPORTANT MESSAGE:
The storm passing just south of Columbus MS show ecellent rotation and a debris signature. There are spotter confirmations of a tornado on the ground. It will pass near Macedonia or Millport. Tornado warning in effect for northern Pickens and Lamar Counties. Tornado is occurring now!
From this picture, you can see the numerous tornadic and otherwise severe thunderstorms over Mississippi and Alabama tonight.
The red polygons are tornado warnings, the yellow ones are severe thunderstorm warnings.
There has been loss of life in the Tennessee Valley with three fatalities in Limestone County for a tornado that moved from near Rogersville to Athens earlier. Two occurred in a mobile home park and one in a home on Sledge Road.
