No Rain For A While

An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player on the right sidebar of the blog. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

DRY MAY DAYS: An upper trough will move through the state today, but the air is just too dry over the northern two-thirds of the state for any rain. Showers will be confined to the far southeast counties, and even there rain will be light and spotty. We expect a mix of sun and clouds around here with a high in the low 70s, below the average high of 78 for May 2.

WARMER WEEKEND: Doesn’t get any better. Sunshine in full supply tomorrow and Sunday with a warming trend. We reach the upper 70s tomorrow, followed by mid 80s Sunday. A perfect weekend for racing at Talladega.

NEXT WEEK: Looks warm and dry Monday through Thursday with sunny days and fair nights; highs will be up in the mid 80s. Showers and storms could return late in the week on Friday; see the Weather Xtreme video for the maps, graphics, and details.

AT THE BEACH: Some rain at times today for the Florida Panhandle, but the weekend and most all of next week looks excellent with sunny days and fair nights from Panama City to Gulf Shores. Highs on the immediate coast will be in the 70s, with 80s inland. The sea water temperature early this morning at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab is 70 degrees.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. Scroll down for the show notes on the new episode we recorded last night.
