Showers and Storms Continue

| May 14, 2014 @ 5:44 pm

The radar remains very active this evening. The surface cold front is now beginning to push east and is moving into the state. It is showing up on the radar as a line of showers and storms in West Alabama. This main line is approaching the U.S. 43 corridor and will continue its eastward progression during the evening and overnight hours. To the east of it, a large rain mass continues over much of Central and East Alabama, where most areas are seeing moderate to heavy rain.

We’ve had a few severe cells today, but at this time, there are no severe storms ongoing across the state. Where there are showers and storms, there may be some gusty winds, along with the very heavy rainfall and some flashes of lightning. Once the front passes your locations, any threat for severe weather will end.
