With the weather across Central Alabama relatively calm with essentially no storms happening, we can turn to the realm of cell phones for some breaking news.
As of about ten minutes ago, the ABC 33/40 Weather Team became the only known (at least to me) weather department in the country, perhaps the world or even the universe, to be fully equipped with iPhones!!! Jason Simpson, the intrepid morning show weather anchor, placed his first call to Brian Peters shortly before 6:15 pm this evening. Jason joins Brian, James, and Ashley with the incredible iPhone!!
Mr. Simpson was quoted as saying, “I like it” as he tried to hold back his bubbling, unbridled enthusiasm for his new phone.
While ancient history now, it is important to note that Mr. Peters was the FIRST iPhone owner on the Weather Team, embarrassing Mr. Spann into his iPhone purchase a week or so later.
We now return the Weather Blog back to regular programming.
You just never know what you’ll hear here first!!!

Oh, that is priceless…..I can’t wait to hear Weatherbrains tonight….maybe it will be loaded before I leave for work tomorrow….

I’m in Auburn, and we’re about to get hit by a huge storm coming from the southeast. It’s sunny, lightning, windy, and there’s a rainbow. Crazy stuff!
