WeatherBrains 437: Mountain Dew in my Trackpad
WeatherBrains Episode 437 is now online (June 9, 2014). If you are crazy about weather, this is THE netcast audio program for you!
Our Guest Panelist tonight is Jeff Craven, President of the National Weather Association, and our Guest WeatherBrain is Ken Heideman.
There are two major professional organizations for meteorologists, and they’re both represented on this show. First, our Guest Panelist is the President of the National Weather Association, Jeff Craven. He has appeared on WeatherBrains previously, back on show 339 in July, 2012. He is the Science and Operations Officer at the NWS Milwaukee/Sullivan office. He is one of few guests ever to appear on the show who actually has a severe weather index named for him.
Tonight’s Guest WeatherBrain is a suggestion of Sara Jane Shangraw. She suggested we have AMS Director of Publications Ken Heideman on the show. So tonight he joins us from Boston.
Other discussions in this weekly podcast include topics like:
Our email officer does her normally stupendous job of recapping the incoming messages from our listeners.
From The Weather Center:
WeatherBrains 101: It was just a couple of weeks ago that San Diego County, California, was suffering through several wildfires which included some spectacular shots of fire whirls. So in this episode of 101, we take a look at what fire swirls are and are not, and some of the dynamics that go along with them.
TWIWH: Bill Murray looks back at the week of June 9th.
Listener Surveys: Okay, we continue to drive this topic into the ground, but we really do like to hear from you. Many thanks to everyone who has taken the time to fill out the Listener Survey. The survey takes just a minute or two to complete and provides us with an opportunity to learn where you are and hear your thoughts and comments on the show. Click here to take the survey.
