The NWS has issued a severe thunderstorm watch for much of North and Central Alabama until 6 p.m.

Counties in the Birmingham NWS area of responsibility include:

Autauga, Bibb, Blount, Calhoun, Cherokee, Chilton, Clay, Cleburne, Coosa, Dallas, Elmore, Etowah, Fayette, Greene, Hale, Jefferson, Lowndes, Marengo, Montgomery, Perry, Randolph, Shelby, St. Clair, Talladega, Tallapoosa, Tuscaloosa, Walker and Winston.

Counties in the Huntsville NWS area include:

Cullman, DeKalb, Jackson, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, Morgan
