VERY NICE: What a great afternoon across Alabama. Full sunshine, low humidity, and comfortable temperatures. Most locations are around 80 degrees…

Temperatures

It will be cool again tonight; most places will enjoy a low between 52 and 56 degrees early tomorrow morning. Just right for early fall.

REST OF THE WEEK: The air stays dry, so we expect mostly sunny days, fair nights, and just a slow day to day warming trend through Friday.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Saturday will be a partly sunny and warm day with a high in the mid 80s, then we will mention the risk of a shower or storm in scattered spots Sunday afternoon as moist air returns to the state. The showers Sunday won’t be widespread, and global models hint the best coverage will be west of our state.

Scattered showers and storms remain possible early next week on Monday and Tuesday. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Delightful conditions for high school games Thursday and Friday nights; the sky will be clear with temperatures falling through the 70s during the games, reaching the upper 60s by the final whistle. There is no chance of rain.

Auburn hosts Louisiana Tech Saturday (3:00p CT kickoff) at Jordan-Hare Stadium… the sky will be partly to mostly sunny with a kickoff temperature near 83 degrees, dropping back into the 70s by the fourth quarter.

UAB will host Florida International Saturday at 2:30p CT at Legion Field in Birmingham… partly sunny with about 84 degrees at kickoff, and upper 70s by the final whistle. No threat of rain.

TROPICS: The Atlantic basin is very quiet and tropical storm formation is not expected through the week.

GULF COAST WEATHER: Sunny days, fair nights on the coast from Panama City west to Gulf Shores through Friday. A few scattered showers will show up this weekend, but there will still be a decent amount of sunshine. Highs will remain in the 80s, and sea water temperatures are mostly in the mid 80s.
