Some Strong Storms

| October 10, 2014 @ 5:59 pm

We are watching a line of strong storms affecting North-Central Alabama this evening. This line of storms stretches from Cullman, down to Jasper, then to Fayette.

None of these storms are currently severe, but they are packing a punch as they produce very heavy rainfall, gusty winds, frequent and dangerous lightning, as well as some hail.

These storms are moving towards the east, and if they hold together, could affect the Birmingham Metro around 7PM. They will not last very long, but they could delay some of the high school football games around the area this evening.

Elsewhere across Central Alabama, there are a few other storms affecting Shelby and Perry counties as well as Cleburne County in East Alabama. Storms should persist the next few hours, but should begin to slowly weaken once the sun sets.
