Fine Fall Weather Continues

DRY OCTOBER DAYS: If you enjoyed the weather over the weekend, you should enjoy the weather this week, and for the rest of October.
We are starting off this day with temperatures in the 40s, although Vic Bell up at Black Creek, near Gadsden, reports 38 degrees ay daybreak. The sky will be sunny today with a high in the low 70s. The average high today (for Birmingham) is 74.
A new surge of cooler, dry air arrives Wednesday, and that will keep us rain-free through Friday with mostly sunny pleasant days and clear cool nights.
THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: No change. Lots of sunshine both days; highs in the 70s and lows in the upper 40s and low 50s. Another great weekend for football or anything else you enjoy outdoors.
The GFS model really does’t show any significant rain event for our state through Halloween as the dry pattern continues. Keep in mind our fall tornado season comes in November and December; that is a time when the weather tends to get more active with occasional stormy periods.
TROPICS: A disturbance near the Mexican coast in the far southwest Gulf of Mexico has come chance of becoming better organized later this week; some models push this toward the southern tip of Florida. One way or another, it won’t have any impact on our weather in Alabama.
AT THE BEACH: Sunny days, fair nights from Panama City west to Gulf Shores over the next seven days. Highs 75-80; lows mostly in the 60s. The sea water temperature early this morning at the Dauphin Island Sea Lab is 70 degrees.
