Mild Afternoons, Cool Nights

An all new edition of the ABC 33/40 Weather Xtreme video is available in the player on the right sidebar of the blog. You can subscribe to the Weather Xtreme video on iTunes by clicking here.

DRY PATTERN HANGS ON: Today will be the 7th consecutive day with no rain across the great state of Alabama, and there is no sign of any significant rain here through the end of the month. Today will feature ample sunshine with a high in the mid 70s.

A new surge of cooler air drops in here tonight; the high tomorrow should slip back into the upper 60s, and Thursday morning looks pretty cool with lows in the 39-43 degree range. Friday should feature a sun filled sky with a high in the low to mid 70s.

OUR WEEKEND: No real change; sunny pleasant days, clear cool nights. Highs over the weekend will be in the 70s, with lows between 48 and 53. Picture perfect weather for football or anything else you want to do outdoors.

Next week a cold front will pass through on Wednesday, but moisture levels look too low for any significant chance of rain. Sure looks like it will be sometime in early November before we see another rain event.

TROPICS: A disturbance in the Bay of Campeche, in the far Southwest Gulf of Mexico, has some chance of development over the next week; it will move eastward across the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and into the Caribbean late this week; the GFS then turns it northward toward Cuba, and possibly the southern tip of Florida before a right turn into the Atlantic. No impact on Alabama; see the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

GULF COAST WEATHER: Fantastic fall weather through the weekend with sunny days and clear highs; highs 75-80 with lows in the 50s and 60s.

WEATHER BRAINS: Don’t forget you can listen to our weekly 90 minute netcast anytime on the web, or on iTunes. This is the show all about weather featuring many familiar voices, including our meteorologists here at ABC 33/40. Scroll down for the show notes on the new episode we recorded last night.
