The good news is that we warm up nicely today with a bright sunny sky, and most communities will see a high in the mid 50s this afternoon.

WEEKEND WARM-UP: Expect another sunny day tomorrow with a high in the low 60s, and we reach the mid 60s Sunday afternoon with a mix of sun and clouds. A clipper will pass northeast of Alabama Sunday night, dragging a cold front through here. This could squeeze out a few sprinkles Sunday night or Monday morning, but it looks like most communities won’t get enough rain to measure.

NEXT WEEK: Lots of sunshine Tuesday and Wednesday; the high Tuesday will be in the upper 50s, followed by mid 60s Wednesday. Then, a cold front passes through early Thursday morning, followed by colder air Thursday and Friday when highs drop into the 40s. Friday morning will be cold with a low down into the 20-25 degree range, with upper teens for colder pockets (much like this morning). See the Weather Xtreme video for the maps, graphics, and more details.

FIRST ALERT STORM TEAM TOUR: Our annual severe weather awareness tour across Alabama rolls along; we will be in Winfield Tuesday evening of next week. Just drop by anytime from 4:00 until 6:30… you can watch me do weather live on ABC 33/40, get some free stuff to take home, and have a chance to win several NOAA Weather Radios we will be giving away. If you need your weather radio programmed or checked, bring it by and we will be glad to help.
