Will It Snow In Tuscaloosa/Birmingham?

The rain/snow line is inching south and eastward late this afternoon.

It is now snowing across the northern two thirds of Pickens County, in places like Carrollton, Gordo and Reform. Lamar County is all snow. There is snow across the northwestern half of Fayette County, with sleet/snow over southeastern parts.

Around Tuscaloosa, the snow area is approaching the western edge of the county.

A mix is falling across Walker County with rain southeast a line from Oakman to Parrish to Cordova. Some sleet is mixing in around the Birmingham area, with snow around Morris and Warrior. It is starting to snow in Pinson. Snow is reported in Clay.

Freezing rain has been accumulating around Vestavia, with a coating on trees and exposed objects. A rain, sleet and snow mix is falling in Center Point. Snow should begin to fill in over the next two hours for areas along and north of I-20.

Snow covers all of Cullman and most of Blount County with snow now falling across northern St. Clair County. Etowah, Cherokee and DeKalb Counties have all snow.

Areas along I-20 will see 1 to 2 inches of snow before it ends later tonight. Areas north of that will see 3-6 inches with isolated larger amounts. Expect some 10 inch amounts in areas south of the Tennessee River down to about Cullman.
