Snow Falling in Birmingham

| February 25, 2015 @ 8:01 pm

Well after a bit of a delay, we have finally seen the rain transition to all snow in Jefferson County. Social media is a buzz with very heavy, wet snow falling throughout the Birmingham Metro. Pictures are flowing in of snow covering the ground in many areas and sticking to most surfaces.

The rain/snow line continues to sink towards the southeast, and forecast totals look to be right on track. The snow will continue to fall the next few hours. Temps will be dropping tonight, so we are not expecting a lot of melting. Travel is becoming hazardous, and is not advised. It will be mid to late morning before we see out temps climb above freezing and conditions improve. Enjoy the snow!
