Freezing rain is beginning to glaze objects in Blount County around Hayden.

Thundersleet being reported in Fayette in Fayette County and at Detroit in Lamar County. Accumulations starting.

Accumulations are also beginning around Sulligent in Lamar COunty.

One half inch of sleet in Hamilton now. Beginning to accumulate around Guin.

In North Alabama, roads are hazardous now from Quad Cities around Florence and Muscle Shoals eastward to Huntsville. Elevated portions of the Parkway are now closed. A Local Area Emergency has been declared for Limestone County.

To the west, freezing rain is beginning in the Jackson Metro area. And more precipitation is building to the southwest over Central Louisiana and Southeast Texas. This activity will move across the freezing air near the surface causing more problems from Central Mississippi into North and Central Alabama.
