Freezing Line Holding…For Now

The freezing line is holding just north of Tuscaloosa, Birmingham and Gadsden this hour, as if I-59 is some sort of fence.

Here are the latest temperatures:

As you can see by the regional radar, there is still lots of precipitation to our southwest.

As long as temperatures remain at 34-36F, roads will be ok. But there is still a lot of cold air to our west and northwest that is poised to move into the area. We will continue to monitor temperature trends and road reports in the I-59 corridor.

Icing is bad over Northwest and North Alabama, down into Lamar County.
