Strong storms continue to march across Mississippi tonight, but they have weakened somewhat over the past hour.

There are no warnings in Mississippi now.

There have been reports of large hail and 40 mph wind gusts in the past hour in the storm that is currently near New Albany.

All of this activity will push into Northwest Alabama from Lamar and Marion Counties into Franklin, Colbert and Lauderdale. The storms should continue to slowly weaken.

The threat of severe weather is diminishing as the storms move into more stable air, but there still could be severe weather overnight. We are waiting to see if the watch will be extended into Alabama. We will continue to monitor closely.
