Late Morning Storms Forming
A couple of showers and storms have formed this morning in areas east and southeast of Birmingham. Growing storms extend from Clay down to Roebuck to Homewood with another set from Leeds/Moody to Chelsea to Pelham. Others are in northern Clay County north of Ashland.
This is a composite reflectivity image from the BMX radar site. It shows the total of all the precipitation that is aloft and falling from the sky, showing where the heaviest rain may be about to fall.
The scattered nature of the showers and storms will continue through the afternoon hours. Here is the HRRR model’s depiction of what the radar might look like through the afternoon.
