Morning Showers Bring Morning Downpours

| June 12, 2015 @ 10:14 am

Showers are forming this morning across much of Central Alabama in a moist airmass that it being pumped northward by a strengthening ridge of high pressure to our east. There is just enough moisture convergence, light instability and very little cap, which is resulting in the showers. They are isolated in nature but are bringing brief heavy downpours to many spots.

As you can see scattered showers will increase in coverage throughout the day. Some of the showers will develop lightning and thunder as they grow in height.
