| June 12, 2015 @ 3:09 pm

Storms are lifting north across Central Alabama and eastern Mississippi this afternoon. They have mean looking clouds, gusty winds, frequent lightning and very heavy rain, but they are not severe and not expected to become severe.

Some of those storms are over the Tuscaloosa area with lots of nervous folks. Again, don’t worry, they aren’t severe. Just don’t get caught outside during them and use caution if driving.

Ronald Hughes in Coker, just northwest of Tuscaloosa reported one inch of rain in 15 minutes. Now that is a gully washer.

New stom over western Jefferson County will move towards Gardendale.

Other heavy storms are over Chilton, Coosa and Tallapoosa Counties. They are especially heavy north of Clanton.

Storms around Columbus MS will lift into northern Pickens and Lamar and Marion Counties in the next hour.
