Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Northwest Tip of Alabama

The NWS in Huntsville has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of Colbert and Lauderdale Counties for strong storms west of the Quad Cities area of Northwest Alabama.

The storms are moving northeast at 35 mph and should stay just west of Muscle Shoals and Florence.

Other storms over eastern Mississippi will affect Franklin County over the next hour.

Closer to the center of the remnants of Tropical Storm Bill, a think band of storms extends from Jackson TN back to Oxford and Batesville MS.

Storms will continue to be a threat through the overnight hours and into early Saturday as the center of the low continues marching west across southern Illinois and Kentucky into tomorrow.
