Severe Thunderstorm Warning – Includes Montgomery

Big storms are marching down I-85 tonight, approaching the city of Montgomery. The storms extend from Eclectic to Talassee to Shorter and Union Springs. The core of the storm is Southwest of Tuskegee. Strong indications of damaging winds on Doppler radar ahead of the main storms with the outflow. These winds may affect eastern parts of Montgomery by 8:45 p.m. Additional storms are forming ahead of the main storm south of Montgomery.

Lots of deadly lightning; lightning caused a house fire in Auburn as the storms passed. There was wind damage near Notasulga. There were reports of tree and power line damage in Lee County.

ECLECTIC…MOVING SOUTHWEST AT 25 MPH.

HAZARD…60 MPH WIND GUSTS AND QUARTER SIZE HAIL.
