LATE REPORT
A report from Cullman County indicates that a man was killed by a fallen tree tonight in the West Point community.

ORIGINAL POST
Understand many trees and power lines are down across the Birmingham metro and many other parts of North Central Alabama. Travel is discouraged!!!!

Trees are down blocking all three lanes of NB I=59 at MM 139 between I-459 and the main Trussville exit.

Our friends at Alabama Power remind you: If you see poles or wires down, leave them alone and call us at 800-888-2726.

At last report, around 86,000 people across Central Alabama were without power. 58,000 are in the Birmingham area. Alabama Power is working hard to restore power to everyone.

Here is the radar just after 9 p.m.
