Intense Winds Moving Through Jefferson, Into Shelby

Intense winds associated with the severe thunderstorm across southwestern Jefferson County are over 70 mph just above the surface on Doppler radar.

These winds are likely reaching the surface as 60 mph winds that can cause serious tree and power line damage.

The strongest winds are now extending from Bessemer to Bluff Park to the Hoover Met. The strongest winds are moving toward Helena and Pelham. They will remain generally west of I-65.

Be in a safe place as these storms approach!
