Does the Weather Get Much Better?

The satellite view of the southeastern US tells it all with beautiful sunshine coming through a cumulus field over nearly 80 percent of Alabama. And the other 20 percent in the southeast corner of the state should be seeing more sunshine in the next couple of hours.

Quick check of radars around the Southeast US showed that all significant radar returns have exited the state.

Looking at temperatures, every hourly reporting station in Alabama was reporting values in the 70s. Fort Payne was the lowest at 70 while Montgomery was reporting 79.

And the dew points are even nicer. North Alabama had dew points in the upper 50s while Mobile and Dothan reported dew points of 70.

If you wanted to find something in the weather to complain about, you could say something about the wind. Most observing sites in North and Central Alabama were registering north to northwest wind with speeds from 10 to 15 mph with an occasional gust to near 20 mph.

Great day to enjoy the weather!
