Dry Days; Warm Afternoons

| September 17, 2015 @ 6:12 am

QUIET WEATHER PATTERN: An upper ridge will stay in place through the weekend, meaning generally dry and warm weather for most of Alabama. Days will be partly to mostly sunny, nights will be mostly fair. We reach the mid 80s today, followed by upper 80s tomorrow and over the weekend. Some spots, especially over West Alabama, could touch 90 degrees tomorrow and Saturday afternoon.

A weak front just north of Alabama could trigger a few isolated showers over the Tennessee Valley Sunday afternoon, but even there most communities will remain dry.

We will mention the risk of scattered showers early next week Monday through at least Wednesday as that front drifts down into Alabama and becomes stationary, but it doens’t look like a big rain event. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

Auburn travels to Baton Rouge to play LSU Saturday… kickoff is at 2:30. It will feel more like summer with 92 degrees at kickoff with a mostly sunny sky. No threat of rain.

TROPICS: Tropical Depression Nine in the Central Atlantic is disorganized, and is expected to dissipate by the weekend before reaching tropical storm strength.
