COOLEST SO FAR THIS FALL: Cool air is flowing into Alabama with a steady north breeze this afternoon; it will reach South Alabama tomorrow.

Alabama’s weather will stay dry over the weekend, with cold mornings. Most communities will drop into the 40-43 degree range early tomorrow, Sunday, and Monday, with 30s likely for the colder valleys and protected areas, where a touch of light frost is possible. Highs will be in the 65-70 degree range with sunshine in full supply each day.

NEXT WEEK: Dry weather continues through at least Thursday, beyond that the weather will be determined by a tropical low in the Gulf of Mexico. It remains to be seen at this stage of the game if Alabama will be impacted at all; the GFS suggests the rain shield with the system will remain well to the west, while the ECMWF pushes rain into our state Sunday and Monday (October 25-26).

This is race weekend at Talledega; if you are headed to the races just keep an eye on future forecasts; it is simply too early to call. It could be a perfect fall weekend, or some rain could be involved Sunday.

Alabama plays at Texas A&M tomorrow (2:30p CT kickoff)… in College Station the sky will be sunny, with about 85 degrees at kickoff. Temperatures will fall into the upper 70s by the final whistle.
