ANOTHER COLD MORNING: Here are some temperatures at daybreak across the great state of Alabama…

Today will be another fine fall day, with ample sunshine and a high around 70 degrees. We should mention today is the ninth consecutive day without measurable rain… the last precipitation came during the pre-dawn hours on October 10 with a cold front.

REST OF THE WEEK: We stay dry with sunny days, fair nights, and a slow warming trend. We reach the mid 70s tomorrow, upper 70s Wednesday, and will be close to 80 degrees Thursday afternoon. Low 80s are likely Friday, with potential for a few mid 80s over West and South Alabama. Tomorrow morning will feature lows in the 40s in most spots, with 30s for colder valleys and protected areas. Then, early morning lows will be mostly in the 50s Wednesday through Friday.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Saturday looks dry with a partly sunny sky and a high in the upper 70s, but an upper trough approaching from the west will begin to push some rain in here Sunday. I don’t think it rains all day Sunday, but it could rain at any time… the sky will be mostly cloudy with a high in the 70s.

Some lingering showers are possible early next week; see the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

RACE WEEKEND AT TALLADEGA: Dry weather is the story at the Talladega Superspeedway this week and into Saturday with mostly sunny, warm days and fair, cool nights. The forecast challenge involves Sunday; rain begins to move into the state, and I think we have to mention some risk of rain Sunday afternoon at Talladega. There is a chance the rain holds off until the completion of the Camping World.com 500, but just a chance. We will have a much higher confidence understand of the timing of the rain later this week as the weekend gets closer.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Alabama will host Tennessee at Bryant-Denny Stadium in Tuscaloosa Saturday (2:30p CT kickoff)… the sky will be partly sunny with temperatures falling from around 78 at kickoff, into the low 70s by the fourth quarter. No significant chance of rain.

Auburn is on the road; they travel to Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks at 11:00a CT Saturday. The sky will be mostly cloudy, with a passing shower or thunderstorm likely during the game. Temperatures will hover in the 67-70 degree range.

AT THE BEACH: Beautiful weather continues this week along the Central Gulf Coast from Gulf Shores east to Panama City Beach, with mostly sunny days and fair nights through Friday. Highs will be in the 70s; lows in the 60s… a few scattered showers could show up this weekend. See the complete Gulf Coast 7 Day Planner here. The Gulf Coast Beach Forecast is presented by Gulf Shores Plantation by Mandoki Hospitality Vacation Rentals. Escape to Gulf Shores Plantation where memories last a lifetime.
