Cool and Wet Saturday

| November 7, 2015 @ 3:10 pm

It is a cloudy and wet day across Central Alabama this afternoon. The rain continues to fall, and there is a large mass of rain to our west that will be sliding east through the state this evening and into the overnight.

The is front continues to slowly sink south through the state and we are seeing over a thirty degree temperature range from the Tennessee Valley (in the 50s) to the Wire Grass ( in the 80s). For Central Alabama, temps are in the 50s and 60s and these will continue to slowly drop through the rest of today and tonight.

With the rain moving in from west, that means you will need to keep the rain gear close to hand today and unfortunately looks to continue for the BIG GAME down in T-Town. For the Alabama/LSU game tonight at Bryant-Denny Stadium with a 7:00 pm kickoff, there will rain as the game begins, but the hi-resolution models show the rain winding down during the game. Temperatures will fall from 60 degrees at kickoff into the 50s so besides the rain gear you will need wear something for colder conditions. We don’t expect any issues with lightning.

Auburn is in Aggieland to take on Texas A&M at 6:30 pm at College Station; there is just a small risk of a lingering shower during the first half; otherwise dry with temperatures falling into the 50s.

THE REST OF THE WEEKEND: As the front sinks through the state, it will be turning colder tonight with lows tomorrow morning dipping back to near 50. While we will see a few peeks at the sun on tomorrow, the temperature is not expected to rise much with highs struggling to get into the lower 60s.
