| November 10, 2015 @ 3:31 pm

COBALT BLUE SKY: As advertised, the sky has become sunny across North/Central Alabama this afternoon… I took this photo out in the ABC 33/40 parking lot a few minutes ago…

Temperatures are in the 60s, and tonight will be clear and cool with a low in the 40s.

Another nice day is ahead tomorrow; partly to mostly sunny with a high up in the low 70s.

TO THE WEST: A deep surface low will form across the Great Plains tomorrow, and will set up blizzard conditions for parts of Colorado, Nebraska, and Wyoming, and a severe weather threat in the warm sector south and east of the low…

The low will move northeast to the Great Lakes Thursday, dragging a cold front through here early Thursday morning. A weakening band of showers will move through during the pre-dawn hours; best chance of rain comes between 1:00 and 6:00 a.m. Rain amounts will be under 1/4 inch for most places, and I doubt if we hear any thunder. Then, the sky becomes partly to mostly sunny Thursday afternoon as dry air moves in following the front.

FRIDAY: It will be a dry, cool, and breezy day with ample sunshine and a high in the mid 60s. Right at seasonal levels for mid-November in Alabama.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: It should be pretty hard to find a cloud in the sky Saturday and Sunday with sunny days and clear cold nights. We are projecting lows in the mid 30s for most places both mornings with potential for frost, and colder pockets will see a freeze. The high Saturday will be in the upper 50s, followed by low 60s Sunday.

NEXT WEEK: We stay dry Monday, then a major, slow moving storm system forms across the Great Plains, and we will have a good chance of rain Tuesday at least through Thursday… a few strong storms will be possible along the way along with potential for heavy rain. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

FOOTBALL WEATHER: Clear and cold for the Friday night high school playoff games; temperatures will fall into the 40s.

Auburn hosts Georgia Saturday at Jordan Hare Stadium (11:00a CT kickoff)… the sky will be sunny with temperatures rising from near 56 at kickoff to 60 by the final whistle.

Alabama takes on Mississippi State over in Starkville at Davis Wade Stadium (2:30p CT kickoff)… the expect a sun filled sky. About 62 degrees at kickoff, falling into the low 50s by the fourth quarter.

AT THE BEACH: Looking dry on the coast from Gulf Shores east to Panama City Beach through the weekend… See the complete Gulf Coast 7 Day Planner here. The Gulf Coast Beach Forecast is presented by Gulf Shores Plantation by Mandoki Hospitality Vacation Rentals. Escape to Gulf Shores Plantation where memories last a lifetime.
