Dry Through The Weekend

| November 12, 2015 @ 3:46 pm

SUNNY AFTERNOON: As advertised, it is a bright, sunny afternoon across North/Central Alabama following the early morning clouds and showers. Temperatures are between 67 and 70 degrees in most spots.

Temperatures

DRY THROUGH SUNDAY: We project sunny days and clear nights through Sunday with dry air holding in place; temperatures trend colder. The high tomorrow will drop into the low 60s, and we are still expecting lows between 30 and 35 degrees both Saturday and Sunday morning with widespread frost. Colder spots will see a freeze, and some of the valley locations will drop into the 20s. Highs over the weekend will be pretty close to 60 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: We stay dry Monday, but a dynamic storm system will develop to the west. Tuesday looks like a dual severe weather/heavy rain threat for areas just west of Alabama; around here the day will be mild and windy with only widely scattered showers. Temperatures rise into the 70s Tuesday afternoon.

Rain and storms will move into Alabama Wednesday and Wednesday night. Global models show a rather marginal severe weather setup with the main dynamics and surface low to the north; heavy rain could be the biggest issue with 1-2 inches likely by Wednesday night. Still way too early to resolve the specifics of this storm system. Drier air returns later in the week by Thursday night and Friday. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
