Rain amounts of 2 inches have been common statewide today with some minor flooding issues reported. But, all of the rain exits the state tonight as dry air takes over. However, dense fog will likely form with a clearing sky, light wind, and wet soil. Dense fog advisories will probably be needed.

TOMORROW AND FRIDAY: These two days will offer a good supply of sunshine, with highs in the 60s, and lows in the 40s. These temperatures are right at average levels for mid to late November in Alabama.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: A cold front will pass through Saturday, but with very dry air in place, we don’t expect any significant risk of rain. The sky will be partly sunny, north winds will gust to 25 mph, and the high will be in the mid to upper 50s.

Sunday morning will feature a freeze, with a low close to 30 degrees for most spots. Sunday will be sunny, but cold with a high between 45 and 50 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: The GFS is printing a low of 26 degrees for Birmingham early Monday; sure looks like our coldest morning so far this season. We will be dry and cool through Wednesday with just a slow warming trend. We should rise back into the low to mid 60s by Wednesday afternoon.

A band of rain and storms will set up just northwest of Alabama Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday; it remains to be seen if that rain will impact our state. A very close call for now… see the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.
