Warming Trend Begins Tomorrow

| November 23, 2015 @ 3:11 pm

ANOTHER COLD NIGHT AHEAD: Best I can tell the coldest spots in Alabama this morning were Russellville and Mentone with 18 degrees reported; most communities were in the mid 20s. Tonight will be another cold one, but not quite as cold as last night. Most communities will be about 5 to 8 degrees warmer; low 30s are likely for most places, with 20s for the colder spots. It should be the last morning below freezing for at least the next seven days.

REST OF THE WEEK: Dry weather continues across the great state of Alabama through Friday with a warming trend. We rise into the low 60s tomorrow and Wednesday, followed by mid 60s Thanksgiving and Friday afternoon. Tomorrow will feature sunshine in full supply, followed by partly sunny conditions Wednesday through Friday. Morning lows will rise to near 50 degrees early Thursday and Friday morning.

THANKSGIVING TRAVEL: This is the expected weather around the nation Wednesday, which according to many, is the busiest travel day of the year. Biggest issue will be with snow for the northern Rockies. The eastern third of the nation looks nice and quiet.

THE ALABAMA WEEKEND: Showers could creep into far North Alabama Friday night or Saturday, but even there the chance looks lower based on new model data. An upper ridge will keep most of the state dry Saturday, with a high in the 60s. We will mention a chance of showers Sunday over the northern half of Alabama, with the high dropping back into the upper 50s.

NEXT WEEK: Showers look likely Monday, followed by cooler and drier air for the middle of the week. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details.

IRON BOWL WEATHER: Looks like a great day for football Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn. At kickoff (2:30), the sky should be partly sunny with a temperature near 63 degrees. Upper 50s are likely by the fourth quarter after the sun sets.

AT THE BEACH: Sunny days, fair nights on the Gulf Coast through the upcoming weekend with a warming trend. See the complete Gulf Coast 7 Day Planner here. The Gulf Coast Beach Forecast is presented by Gulf Shores Plantation by Mandoki Hospitality Vacation Rentals. Escape to Gulf Shores Plantation where memories last a lifetime.
